At Camarillo Smiles, we are happy to help you make sense of your dental insurance. There are 3 basic types of dental insurance:

PPO- Preferred Provider Organization

Patients choose from a “network” of dentists that have all agreed to not charge more than the negotiated rate for procedures. Usually, the patient can still get some dental insurance benefits even if they go out of this network. We are “in network” with many PPO plans and we also see many patients that have a PPO insurance in which we are “out of network.” We will help you maximize your insurance benefits in any case.

Indemnity- Traditional Dental Insurance

Patients can choose to see any dentist that they would like and receive dental benefits. The benefit is based on a set percentage of the cost of the procedure. We are pros at working with these insurance companies with the help of a whole bunch of computerized technology.

HMO- Health Maintenance Organization

Patients sign up to be a part of a single dental office. The choices are usually limited due to the under-funding of these plans. It makes it almost impossible for a dentist to make a living taking these plans which is why Camarillo Smiles and some many other dental offices don’t accept HMO insurance.
